Craniosacral Therapy

Craniosacral Therapy (CST) involves light holding of the skull and sacrum and barely detectable movements.  It is a subtle therapy that can achieve profound health benefits with minor and safe interventions. I use small manipulations to influence the pressure and circulatory rhythm of cerebrospinal fluid that surrounds and cushions the brain and spinal cord. This can treat headaches, tension/stress headaches, migraines, whiplash, trauma to the head, and birth trauma.

The modern founder of CST, John Upledger, an osteopath, is one of the most famous personalities in complementary and alternative medicine. He built on much older ideas. Mr. Upledger says that CST "works with natural and unique rhythms of our different body systems to pinpoint and correct source problems".

Myofascial Release

Myofascial work is a very specific type of massage, and yet so versatile that it can be used in many massages. This is a modality that can use any pressure (light to deep) and still get the same result, which is the muscle releasing. Once the muscle releases, all the blood, oxygen, protein and nutrients are able to move into those muscles that were tight for so long. This is a slow paced massage.

Medical Massage

Medical massage is great for treating all kinds of needs. Whether it be low back pain/ pressure from bulging or herniated discs, sciatic pain, a neck or back injury, fibromyalgia, sprains or strains, orthopedic injuries, chronic pain or persistent headaches or migraines, the list goes on... but receiving this type of massage can be very beneficial to your needs. Every massage is tailored to what the current issue is.

Bamboo Massage

Bamboo massage is a sports/ injury and deep tissue massage all combined in one. Using the all natural bamboo sticks, I heat them prior to use and that allows the muscle to relax faster. Also using the sticks, I can give more pressure than I would be able to with my hands. I can also dig into places (like under your shoulder blade) better with the sticks. It's a really great addition to a hands on massage if you're looking to try something new or just hands on work isn't cutting it. Heat is great in the winter, for arthritis and chronic pain relief. This massage is offered year round.

30 minutes $40; 45 minutes $60; 60 minutes $80; 75 minutes $90; 90 minutes $100

Hot Stone Massage

Hot Stone massage is the ultimate relaxation, so indulge a little bit! If you've had just hands on work and like to receive a relaxation or Swedish massage, this is one to definitely try! The heated stones can relax the muscles and loosen them up and allow you to relax quickly. I do hands on work in the massage, but I use the stones more. If there is something that needs to be worked out (like a small kink in the neck or knot in between your shoulder blades) that can be addressed in this massage too. *Not offered in the warmer months*

60 minutes $80; 90 minutes $100

Lymphatic Drainage

Lymphatic drainage massage (LDM) is a form of gentle massage that encourages the movement of lymph fluids around the body. The fluid in the lymphatic system helps remove waste and toxins from the body tissues. LDM can help to reduce swelling, improve circulation throughout the lymphatic system, and can improve immunity to help your body fight off infection.

Scheduling a 60 or 90 minute Lymphatic Drainage Massage would be most beneficial to the client, as the massage uses very light pressure and long, gentle, rhythmic strokes to help move the lymph through the system and away from the affected area.

Persons suffering from lymphedema, fibromyalgia, swelling or edema, fatigue, insomnia, stress, digestive problems, arthritis and migraines can benefit from LDM.

As with any massage, you should speak with your primary care provider before scheduling an appointment. Persons with congestive heart failure, blood clots, kidney problems, infections, or circulation problems cannot receive LDM.
